GOSHU, founded in 1946, first started as a pharmaceutical company in Japan. They initially manufactured and sold medicines for sickness. As the company grew, they desired to contribute to the development of a healthy life. Currently, they are developing and manufacturing a wide range of products from mineral water, bath additives, and cosmetics to food with beneficial claims, using deep sea water and natural water of Northern Alps, which is a natural resource of Toyama prefecture, delivering to people all over the world.

Born in Toyama, Japan
Toyama prefecture where their head office and factory is located in has a world-class rare terrain of 4000m in height difference from the Tateyama mountain range of 3000m class to Toyama Bay of 1000m depth. They use the “groundwater” and “deep sea water” nurtured in this rich nature to develop and manufacture a wide range of products from mineral water, bath additives, and cosmetics to food with beneficial claims. Their manufacturing plant is located in the rural area near the water supply site, where the area is partly designated as a natural environment preservation area in Toyama prefecture. They are thankful for the grace of nature which is the source of their corporate activities; they will continue to contribute creating a sustainable society by delivering attractive products while striving for environmental conservation.

In the process of developing various products, Goshu has evolved the technologies of using high-quality ground natural water and deep sea water. In addition to these technologies, they have been strengthening their efforts to ensure safety and reliability with “Customers come first”. In the clean factory in Toyama that acquired ISO9001 and FSSC 22000 which are the world’s highest food safety management standards, they carefully produce every their product under strict quality control.

They have been pursuing every day to deliver more attractive and loved products, as they research such people’s needs. As a result, a wide range of products such as mineral water, bath additives, cosmetics and food with beneficial claims have been created. But their challenge is not over. In addition to these technologies, while cooperating with government agencies, Goshu is actively working on researching new materials and health effects.
Study of papain enzymes
Goshu’s company roots as a research and development enterprise is in the study of papain enzymes started in 1965. Bath additives containing of the excellent proteolytic power and stability of papain enzymes are their long-selling products. In 2007 they opened their own research farms and have been working on with a consistent system for a variety of food with beneficial claims from material research.
Study of deep sea water
In order to explore the possibility and usefulness of deep sea water containing more than 80 kinds of minerals, the research started in 1996. They succeeded in practicing multistage seawater separation technology for the first time in Japan. They propose new skincare and bathing styles through their own developed products that make use of its health and beauty effects.
