Ito Bindery produces high-quality Japanese stationery since 1938. Even in this digital age, paper and pen remain important tools that help clear your head. These tools are your partners when creating, organizing your thoughts, gaining a deeper understanding of the world around you, and polishing new ideas. Ito Bindery is located in Sumida Ward in Tokyo, an area known for small factories that make quality products. Throughout the generations, the brand has expanded its business from notebook binding to manufacturing high-quality stationery.
Present at around 100 stores across the globe

After receiving the prestigious Good Design Award in 2010, the minimalist drawing pads and memo blocks attracted the attention of design enthusiasts all around the world. Thanks to that, the collection was sold at the MoMA store in NY in 2011 and has been carried at Margaret Howell shops since 2017. In addition to that, an event in collaboration with MUJI was held in 2011, and collaboration goods made for Lexus have been sold since 2013. Connections with such major brands have allowed word-of-mouth about Ito Bindery’s quality to travel even further, and the collection is now carried at around 100 stores across the globe.
widely used by architects and designers

Ito Bindery’s drawing pads are widely used by architects and designers. The drawing pad’s recycled cardboard base is sturdy so you can write or sketch anywhere, even on the go. It is also coverless, so you can instantly sketch or write down your ideas. The pads are entirely produced in the Tokyo factory one by one, from the paper selection to the packaging. The drawing pad’s micro-perforated sheets allow you to tear off the paper easily and cleanly by holding the edge of paper and pulling it to the front.
Children also enjoy drawing on the drawing pads. Moreover, Ito Bindery’s collection has been featured in national children’s magazines in both the US and Japan.
Memo Blocks

The Memo Block is mounted on a thick and sturdy recycled cardboard base. From the material selection to the finishing touches, each block is carefully made one by one. The memo blocks come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. The small size is a perfect square, the medium is a rectangle and the large is a long rectangular shape. The contrast of colors between the sheets and the paperboard base is subtle yet eye-catching. Ito Bindery’s unique cutting technique creates a clean and minimalist form that will look great on any desk.
record your thoughts

Ito Bindery also produces notebooks that are available in two colors. Each person has their own lifestyle, job, personality, and daily routine. If you end up falling into the same pattern every day, you may forget important words and things you noticed. Try writing them down so you can reflect on them and perhaps find a new way to express yourself.
