ITA – Italian Trade Agency in Japan is the governmental agency that supports the business development of Italian companies in Japan and abroad. It works closely with all the stakeholders appointed for the internationalisation of the Italian market to Japan such as local Japanese trade associations, with ICCJ, the Italian chambers of commerce in Japan, and other public and private organisations.
ITA, Italian Trade Agency in Japan supports Italian small and medium-sized companies in the process of accessing the Japanese market with provided information, training, promotion and consultancy services to get to know foreign markets, identify new opportunities, find Japanese customers and partners and consolidate relations between them.
Italian Seminars & Exhibitions in Japan
The Trade Promotion Department of the Italian Embassy in Japan regularly hosts seminars and exhibitions such as an annual Italian Design Day, and develops different projects including “Italian Cheese Japan Promotion” to popularize Italian cheese on the Japanese market. Other initiatives included the Italian wine tasting business meeting BORSA VINI 2022, introducing more than 100 kinds of wine from 35 companies from all over Italy and the Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Business Meeting – Borsa Olio EVO, introducing about 20 extra virgin olive oils.
presence at the international trade shows
ITA organises a presence and operates the Italian Pavilions at popular international trade shows taking place in Japan such as FOODEX JAPAN, IFFT Interior Lifestyle Exhibition, BIO JAPAN, CPhI Japan, International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition introducing a wide range of made-in-Italy products. To facilitate business negotiations ITA arranges a Japanese / Italian interpreter. The Italian Trade Agency constantly provides exhibitors and visitors with all the necessary information and assistance. At the fairs, an open space with a meeting point or an individual booth is organised to allow the management of business meetings with the Japanese visitors.
For some exhibitors at FOODEX who cannot come to Japan or exhibit at individual stands, ITA organises a corner to display samples (showroom corner, special Italian cheese corner) so that visitors can check the products.
Businesss matching platform
In 2021 a CDP a Business Matching Platform was opened, a tool aimed at matching Italian companies with the three major Asian countries (Japan, China and India). It supports 8 languages and complies with the highest IT security standards. It can also be useful for Japanese companies, such as business opportunities in Italy and research on new partner companies.
