Laflore’s bags are handmade from a premium cork skin which is harvested in Portugal and polished until the texture is as soft and supple as leather.
Cork is one of the most environmentally-friendly materials on earth because harvesting bark actually helps the trees flourish. Cork doesn’t cause waste because leftover material can be chipped and used to make cork boards, it’s incredibly durable so you won’t have to replace your bag with something new, and cork is completely biodegradable!
When cork trees are stripped of their bark, they can absorb enormous amounts of carbon dioxide and release even more oxygen. Cork trees live for over 200 years, they are never cut down, and the cork bark regenerates every 9-12 years.
Laflore’s Zero Waste Objective
The company understands that manufacturing eco-friendly products is only half of the battle. In order to live a sustainable lifestyle, the focus needs to be on need reducing waste. Laflore’s zero waste vision is to scale up production sustainably while never producing more than what is needed.
The lining of the bags is now made with 100% recycled cotton and the packaging is made from natural jute fiber which is recyclable and compostable. Additionally, Laflore’s artisans try their best to not let any extra parts go to waste. Bobobark products are fixed and recycled at the workshop. Functional parts are saved such as frames, rings, and cork leather, to be repurposed into new products.

Elie & Natacha are the father-daughter team behind LaFlore Paris. Together, Elie and Natacha decided to do things differently. They wanted to create a brand that would combine the essence of who they are and what they believe in. Their products needed to be chic, elegant and modern…as well as environmentally friendly, vegan, and sustainable. They set off to design their first product, and shortly after – bobobark was born.
