Honigmayr is top quality organic honey from Austria, that meets the highest quality standards. This honey is only processed once it has been actively approved by the management, laboratory, quality management and procurement. Moreover, their honey is sourced exclusively from selected, regional bee-keepers that Honigmayr has worked together with for many years.
Environment With Intact Flora
When “Austria” is on the label, that means the product is 100% from Austria. Since 2019, the Honigmayr honey factory has belonged to the Spitz family business, which is based in Tenneck in the state of Salzburg. It ensures that bees are in an environment with intact flora, where they can collect the finest honey, which is being filled into honey jars and honey dispensers at the factory in Tenneck.
Everything starts in the raw materials warehouse, which houses some 3,000 to 4,000 tonnes of honey in barrels yearly. Up to 100 tonnes of honey are made into the finest-quality honey by Honigmayr each week.
Exceptional Care
To ensure that the high-quality honey retains its characteristic aromas, it is processed with exceptional care. Whether it is classic blossom honey from Austria, aromatic organic forest honey, citrus blossom honey, organic blossom honey, or creamed honey, each jar of honey is being checked manually to assess the quality. Furthermore, the process of packaging is also performed by hand at Honigmayr.
Careful Quality Checks
Each honey barrel has a barcode for tracking to enable checking where the honey is from and which bee-keeper it was supplied by at any time. The careful quality checks during the honey production process begin once the honey arrives, when several samples are taken and rigorously inspected. That is performed both in external laboratories and internal laboratories, where the quality of the honey is rigorously checked several times throughout the production process. Even when Honigmayr honey has been packed, taste samples are taken at the start, middle and end of every production batch to ensure consistently high quality, so that you will enjoy only honey of the finest quality.
The International Food Standard (IFS) certificate serves as an audit of food safety and the quality standards of food production companies. Honigmayr’s honey-making process satisfies all the requirements of the IFS. This honey also meets the strict rules of the EU Organic Production Regulation and is regularly checked by the organic inspection body.
